ElevateMeD was nominated for a True Inspiration Award™ this summer by Jeff and Vicki Myles, operators of Chick-fil-A Deer Valley in North Phoenix.  With the nomination, we had the opportunity to complete an extensive grant application that was due in September.  Late October, we learned that our organization received a grant score earning us the distinction of one of six finalists from the western region.   From November 9-21, voting opened to the public and because of YOU, ElevateMeD is a Western Regional Winner of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!!!

We are thrilled to be the first True Inspiration Award™ recipient from Arizona with national impact and are profoundly grateful to all of you for sharing with others, downloading the app, and casting your vote in support.  As the only organization in the Western Region addressing healthcare education, in the setting of Covid-19 and rising awareness regarding the impact of systemic racism, the mission and vision of ElevateMeD continue to resonate.  The impact of this grant will allow our organization to extend the breadth and depth of support we give to medical students from racial and ethnic backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in medicine.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of ElevateMeD, THANK YOU!!!

About

The True Inspiration Awards™ program was created in 2015 to honor the legacy of Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy. Since then, more than $7.1 million has been granted to nonprofits doing amazing things in their communities. This year, Chick-fil-A committed to award $5 million in True Inspiration Awards grants to qualifying nonprofits that are either Black-led or serving primarily Black communities or other communities of color.
